Tim Sivertsen
My paintings are fairly large format. I apply latex paint on my own textured surfaces (created with plaster or mortar) usually applied on polystyrene boards or plywood (or about anything!). I work mostly with the human figure (faces), but do abstractions also. I usually work from my own or other people’s photos out of magazines, books, newspapers. I seek images that are conducive to my styling or that “snag” my eye. I try to create a tactile sense. For want of a better word, I attempt to create a “state of grace” but it’s a tough climb!
