My photography came about out of a passion for wild places and a need to bring a piece of the wilderness experience home. In my photographs, it is my goal to give the viewer the sense of calm and inspiration that only nature can truly provide. Hopefully, each image will possess a feeling of atmosphere that will invite the viewer into the scene, to be a part of the image. To achieve this, I use a 4x5-inch view camera, because it allows details of an image to be recorded with great clarity, and depth. Not to mention, a camera constructed of wood, brass, and leather is a fun and satisfying way to capture images!
